About Michelle
Michelle DiTondo is a Principal with Avion Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in leadership, team, and organizational development. Michelle has over 25 years of experience in human resources leadership and organization transformation. Most recently, Michelle served nearly a decade as the Chief Human Resources Officer for MGM Resorts International, leading culture transformation and employee engagement initiatives for the company’s 88,000 employees worldwide. As a key member of the senior leadership team, Michelle worked in partnership with the C-Suite on a broad range of company-wide strategies in both talent and overall business improvement.
Prior to assuming the CHRO role, Michelle was the Vice President of Human Resources with MGM Resorts at Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino and New York-New York Hotel & Casino, overseeing all human resources functions at each property. Michelle joined MGM Resorts in 2006 from Harrah’s/Caesars Entertainment, where she held the position of Vice President of Human Resources for Flamingo and Harrah’s Las Vegas.
For five years prior to entering the hospitality and entertainment industry, Michelle was a Partner in an organization development and leadership effectiveness consulting firm where she provided organization effectiveness consulting for a number of global Fortune 100 Companies.
As a speaker, Michelle’s unique style of leveraging both expertise and humor enables her to engage an audience to ensure everyone leaves with key messages and food for thought. Michelle has been a speaker to audiences of all sizes on topics such as culture transformation, employee engagement, leadership skills, and the importance of internal branding.
Michelle received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Arizona State University and her Master of Business Administration from Brigham Young University.
Michelle resides in Las Vegas, Nevada with her husband and two children. She has held Board positions with the Culinary Training Academy, Asian American Pacific Islander Scholarship Fund and the Red Cross of Southern Nevada. Currently, she is on the board of LeaderMom.com, focused with other executive women on creating resources for women and mothers in leadership roles.
